Beginning this week, students at Washington University can study the genius of Kanye West's life.  Dr. Jeffrey McCune, associate professor in the African and African-American Studies and the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies departments, is heading up the class that promises to focus on "looking at black genius and the impossibility of black genius for the American public."  He says that this won't be an excuse to bash the antics of the newly adopted Kardashian, but will focus on the struggle Kanye has faced as a successful rapper, producer and fashion designer.

This is not the first class focused on Mr. West.  Georgia State University hosted a course on West in 2015, and the University of Missouri focused on West and Jay-Z in 2014.
