Americans are spotting cicadas like never before. According to USA Today, Brood XIII has started to emerge in Wisconsin, throughout the Chicago area and near Peoria, Illinois. Cicadas have also been spotted all over Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

These cicada's think we won't find a way to eat them or drink them? Think again. A bar in Chicago called Noon Whistle Brewing is serving cicada-infused shots of Chicago's famous liquor, Malört. Malört is a wormwood liqueur that's been compared to "citrus-flavored gasoline. I have tried Malört before and it is one of the worst tasting liquors I have ever had. Why not make the drink even more disgusting right? Would you drink a Cicada-Infused Malört?
The brewery said on Instagram, "Prepare yourself for a once-in-a-lifetime experience because starting today, we're thrilled to unveil our exclusive locally harvested Cicada-Infused Malört at Lombard Brewpub!"
They are really trying to sell the taste, they described it as "Lobster-Like Flavor Sensation" They went on to sell us on the incredible taste. "Believe it or not, the 17-year old virgin cicadas bring a flavor reminiscent of succulent lobster to this insanely delicious concoction. It's a taste you won't find anywhere else, and it's only available once every 17 years." The brewery added that it's nutritious to eat these pesky bugs, who knew that these insects were packed with protein and low in fat?
