Why This Years Shreveport’s Highland Parade Was the Best Ever

Several veteran riders claim that this year is the most people they have ever seen line up for beads and throws. The streets were filled with hundreds of thousands of Mardi Gras revelers who cheered and danced keeping everyone around them entertained.

It Is Clear That Shreveport-Bossier Missed Mardi Gras Parades.

We took a year off and Shreveport-Bossier was eager to welcome one of the most fun parades in Louisiana. Families from all over came out to celebrate the Krewe of Highland. Some people had signs saying they came in all the way from Austin and some were from Arkansas. It was so exciting to see people from all over come to Shreveport for such a fun event.

The Funny Signs Were Back.

Clearly, Shreveport didn't lose its sense of humor during the lockdown.

The Weather Ended Up Being Perfect for a Parade.

Several people in the Ark-La-Tex opted out of the Krewe of Gemini parade because of the horrid weather, luckily for the first time in a long time, we were able to enjoy the Highland parade without rain or sleet.

Shreveport-Bossier Showed Up and Showed Out.

We lined the streets and spread joy. How wonderful is it that we were all able to pause and enjoy one of the best days of the year in our town?
