Why You Should Adopt a Black Cat on National Black Cat Day
As a proud owner of a beautiful black cat, I appreciate days like this that shine a light on the importance to adopt black cats.
According to the Animal Foundation website, black cats are less likely to adopted. Which means that the majority of cats overlooked at shelters and animal control facility are the black cats.
I can tell you from my experience that black cats are a amazing to own. They are loving and mysterious. It is like living with a tiny panther.
Also, having a black cat may lead to less vet visits. According to The Spruce, "Researchers at the National Institutes of Health discovered that the genetic mutations that cause cats to have black coats may offer them some protection from diseases."
And for all my single ladies out there, in Japan having a black cat will actually help your love life. No joke! According to The Spruce, if a single woman has a black cat they are destined to attract more men.
So do your self a favor and adopt a beautiful black cat in honor of National Black Cat Day. BTW there is a black cat available for adoption on the Pet Savers of Shreveport's website.
