Bossier City residents were shocked when Books-A-Million suddenly closed its Bossier City store in June. But just as quickly, something new and familiar is coming to the location.

2nd & Charles, a sister company of Books-A-Million, will open a store in the former Books-A-Million location.

According to 2nd & Charles' website, the company's focus is on buying, selling and trading. Think: Books-A-Million meets Goodwill.

At 2nd & Charles, our passion for reading, writing, listening, playing and watching has helped us take the idea of recycling to a whole new level. Instead of finding new ways to use books, video games, movies, music and more, we came up with the great idea of just helping people reuse them. That way, more people can find something they’ll enjoy, for less. And since our inventory changes every day, you’ll always find something different here, too.

The list of what 2nd & Charles will purchase from customers is extensive.

"We buy and sell books, DVDs & Blu-Ray, CDs, video games, game systems & accessories, comics, iPads, iPods, eReaders, vinyl records and audio books," reads the company's FAQ.

There's already a GameStop on Airline Drive, so it will be interesting to see how 2nd & Charles will fare against the used video game selling juggernaut. But for literature fanatics and music geeks, there could be a new hot spot in town.

The one big question left is, when will 2nd & Charles open in Bossier City? "Very soon" claim posters pasted in the location's windows.
