Adele Named One of Forbes’ Most Powerful Celebrities
Adele is rolling in the cash as the U.K. songstress finds herself on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list for 2012. Despite being forced to cancel the majority of her U.S. tour due to damaging her vocal cords, the success of her sophomore album, ’21,’ has kept her in the spotlight.
Adele entered the list at 24, beating out the likes of NBA star Kobe Bryant, Bon Jovi, hip-hop legend Dr. Dre, actor Brad Pitt, entertainment mogul Ryan Seacrest and more. Forbes reports that she made $35 million between May 1, 2011 and May 1 of this year. The singer’s multiple Grammy awards and ’21′ selling almost 6 million copies in the U.S. alone had a great deal to do with that.
Speaking of ’21,’ the album might be reissued with additional tracks. A deluxe edition is reportedly in the works to be released in time for the holiday season. “A repackaged album is currently being discussed,” a source told the Daily Star. “It’s not yet confirmed that it will feature new material or songs that didn’t make the original album but it makes sense to bring it out.”
