All I wanted was iced coffee.
First and foremost, I want to say that this is not a rant about bad service or terrible employees at all. That being said, in the past week a particularly frustrating phenomenon has happened to me. Okay, here's the situation - I'm in the Drive-Thru at McDonald's on Airline at I 20. There's a sign in the drive through that says "iced coffee small, $1 all day long! Every hour is happy hour at McDonald's!"
Now I realize that McDonald's is not the Bastion of delicious iced coffees, but I happen to be there - and I just wanted an iced coffee to go with my Happy Meal. That's a completely normal thing, and since there was a sign about how they loved making iced coffee for just $1, it seemed extremely straightforward.
So, fast forward about 10 minutes.
I get to the window, and it's like "we don't even serve that here sir." Now these poor ladies at the drive-thru had no idea, but there was a sign that said they had $1 iced coffee all day long.
I'm not even singling out McDonald's. I needed to send money to somebody via Western Union, so I foolishly stopped at a convenience store with a Western Union sign thinking that they handled Western Union stuff there.
All I'm saying is, if you own a business and you advertise a service or product with a sign outside your business please make sure you can actually do and/or sell that stuff.
