It's way too hot outside, so let's make s'mores inside in the air conditioning!

Yes, I will admit that I am a Food Network junkie. It's one of the channels I usually have on over the weekend as I do chores or catch up on some work. It's soothing, comforting, and oh so delicious.

That being said, I also love Jeff Mauro. He won Food Network Star a few seasons ago and is known as the Sandwich King. It's no surprise that s'mores are a part of his sandwich repertoire.

But this time he's making them in a skillet.

Yes. A skillet. Indoors. In the air conditioning. No more sitting out in the humidity and dripping sweat on your delectable decadent chocolate marshmallow treats.

Did I mention s'mores are one of my favorite desserts, so finding this is literally a recipe for disaster? Especially since my parents just sent me a care package with makings for s'mores!

Here's how to make them (from FoodNetwork.com)

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
One 12-ounce bag mini chocolate chips
3 cups mini marshmallows
Graham crackers, broken into squares, for dipping

Directions:

Preheat the broiler on high.

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter in the skillet, add the nuts and toast until fragrant. Remove from the heat and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the nuts. Spread the marshmallows over the chocolate chips. Place the skillet under the broiler until browned on top.

Serve in the skillet and use graham cracker squares for dipping.
