Tornadoes wreaked havoc in the middle parts of the US on Friday, killing 39 people in five states. Storms of this force and magnitude can strike in an instant, and typically the only thing you can do if you find yourself in the deadly storm’s crosshairs is hope you are able to get to a storm cellar.
However, one woman in the West Liberty, Kentucky area decided to take on a tornado head on with prayer. Judging from the video, some people think her technique may have worked.
Uggie the dog has had quite a year. The plucky Jack Russell Terrier appeared in ‘Water For Elephants’ and was a major scene stealer in ‘The Artist,’ which eventually won the Academy Award for Best Picture. For his work in ‘The Artist’ the nine-year-old pup took Top Dog at the first annual Golden Collar Awards. Not bad for a pooch who was rejected by two owners and spent time in the pound before being “discovered” by an animal trainer.
Ryan Kitching’s mom had been nagging him to clean his room, as moms tend to do. When the 19-year-old from Midlothian, Scotland finally relented and attacked the mess, he found 12 old lottery tickets.
Figuring they must all be losers, he thought about throwing the tickets out with the rest of the junk. But then he had a “strange feeling” that he should check the numbers, and when he did, he was nearly $85,000 richer.
For its most recent digital short, ‘Saturday Night Live’ decided to go back to the 70s. While it was a glorious time when all races and sexes were prone to wearing afros, Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig ended up using it to create one of the most creepy save the date wedding invites ever.
It’s happened to everyone — you text your husband or wife, “I love you with every fiber of my being,” but your phone actually sends, “I love you with every fiber of malaysia.” Most of the time it’s funny, but one person experienced the worst case of autocorrect ever. So bad, in fact, that it prompted a school-wide lockdown.
The Lindsay Lohan comeback tour is more than just this weekend’s much ballyhooed stop on ‘Saturday Night Live.‘ She also sat down for an interview with ‘Today’s’ Matt Lauer, which aired Thursday.
‘Today’ had been teasing their high-profile “get” all week, and Conan O’Brien made a little mischief with those promos Wednesday night. (One has to imagine Conan takes particular glee in spoofing NBC shows such as ‘Today.’)
Jimmy Kimmel’s big get for his post-Oscar special was Oprah Winfrey. And to reward the TV mogul for doing his show, Kimmel decided to pitch Winfrey a bunch of ideas for her fledgling network OWN. One of those ideas? Book fight club.
