The season hasn't even aired and tragedy has already struck this season of "The Bachelorette." One man who vied for Andi Dorfman's heart has passed away after a paragliding accident.

Eric Hill, a "Bachelorette" contestant died of injuries he suffered from a paragliding accident over the weekend, according to E! News. Hill had already been eliminated from the show, which premieres May 19.

Hill's sister, Karen Tracy, confirmed the news as she wrote on Facebook, "Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away."

The accident happened when Hill's parachute partially collapsed while paragliding.

Hill was an outdoor enthusiast and loved adventure. He recently posted this photo on Instagram from his trip to Guatemala:

Although ABC has not announced Hill as an official contestant on this season of "The Bachelorette", sources confirmed to E! News that he did indeed compete as a suitor and that the accident did not happen while he was on the show.

The insider went on to say that producers still haven't figured out how to proceed. Another source said the hometown dates are being filmed at this time, making Dorfman disconnected from the outside world. It is unclear if the producers will tell Andi the news before the final episodes of the season.

Family and friends of the Hill family are in our thoughts and prayers.
