One of America's most cherished holidays approaches. No, not Thanksgiving. That's nothing compared to the fury and fervor engendered in our deal-crazed populace by the holiday known simply as Black Friday. So popular is this holiday that it has transcended the notion of camping outside of your favorite local retailer in the bitter cold at 4AM, still full of turkey and a variety of starches, both savory and sweet.

These days you can often enjoy the benefits of this retail orgy, this modern-day fiscal Bacchanal, from the comfort of your own warm home. And this time of year is perfect for us music fanatics to greatly enrich our music collections, both digital and vinyl. Because we here at Diffuser love you so much, we've compiled a list of music deals to look out for this holiday season. Happy holidays.

Record Store Day Releases

Shopping local is important, so you're going to want to save some time in your Black Friday shopping schedule for visiting your favorite local record store. All sorts of bands are releasing limited Record Store Day Black Friday releases. Thanks to the massive list of vinyl, our Christmas wish list is overloaded. We're looking forward to getting our grubby hands on the Afghan Whigs' special edition 'Gentlemen at 21,' the Beatles' reissue of the original 'Long Tall Sally' 7 inch, Chvrches' 'Under the Tide' EP, and a smoky-red vinyl reissue of the soundtrack to 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' by Ennio Morricone. Just to name a few.

Amazon.com

Amazon, of course, has marked down a ton of digital albums down for Black Friday. Right now, Amazon has a big selection of MP3 albums for a mere $6.99 and less, with many of them right at or below $5. This sale includes some promising selections, including Tove Lo's 'Queen of the Clouds,' Royal Blood's self-titled debut, Lorde's 'Pure Heroine,' and Future Island's most recent album, 'Singles.'

You can browse all of Amazon's Black Friday music deals here.

Best Buy

If you're still into CDs, then Best Buy might have something to offer you with their Black Friday specials. They'll be slashing prices on a big selection of their most popular CDs -- many of these discounted discs will be $6.99, and a lot more, mostly "classic" stuff, will be just $1.99. You can view the music deals here.

Best Buy, in case you didn't know, also sells electronics. So if you're looking for a new personal music player, stereo or portable speakers, they've got plenty of that stuff, too. You can take a look at Best Buy's in-store deals, which last from Thanksgiving through the following Saturday, here.

Music Direct

If you're looking to improve your music listening experience via some well-deserved (we know you work hard all year) upgrades to your sound system, look no further than Music Direct. They have some amazing Black Friday deals, on everything from headphones to those really nice but very expensive tube power amps. If you've been pining to up your vinyl game, now might be the time. You can check out Music Direct's Black Friday deals here.

Music Gear

Given the number of bands out there now and the ease of producing music on your own, there's a good chance you're one of the many, many people playing music. Sweetwater is giving away different bits of musical gear as prizes throughout December, up until Christmas day. You can enter here.

And even if you don't play an instrument yourself, you probably have at least one musically-inclined person on your holiday shopping list. Musician's Friend has already cut prices on a wide swath of music gear, including everything from electric guitars to DJ gear to studio equipment. Check out their deals here.

And of course, just like RSD, we greatly encourage you to visit your local music gear stores for unique Black Friday sales.

With so many places to shop, we're sure there are a lot more great deals floating around this year. If you know of one we missed, do us all a solid and share it in the comments section below! We'll be much obliged.
