High school sophomore Briston Maroney blew the judges away on 'American Idol' tonight (Jan. 29). They could not believe he was only in high school -- especially considering his soulful performance of 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' by the Rolling Stones.

He played his great grandfather's guitar -- which is a family heirloom -- and the judges were impressed by his incredibly unique voice. The shy teen really brought it.

In response, the judges sent him out to his music-loving family, golden ticket in hand.
