The First ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Teaser Promises Wedding Bells and Whips

Oh, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. When are those two crazy kids ever going to get together? There’s is a love story we can all relate to: she, the inexperienced college student and would-be journalist, and he, the millionaire Seattle playboy, willing to teach her in the practice of love. Would their shared appreciation for BDSM be enough to overcome their differences and help them find true love? I don’t know for sure, but based on this first teaser trailer for Fifty Shades Freed, I’m going to venture that the answer to that question is yes.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘It’ Breaks a Whole Slew of Box Office Records

As we head deeper into September, two things have become pretty clear about 2017 box office numbers: one, Hollywood desperately needs to bounce back a little bit from the doldrums of August, and two, whoever decided to hedge their studio’s bets with a September release date for a movie about a killer clown is looking like a [profanity] genius right about now. We’ll get to all of that in a moment, but first, here are the box office numbers as of Sunday afternoon:

Armie Hammer Will Play Mr. Ginsburg in ‘On the Basis of Sex’

It’s hard not to like Armie Hammer. The actor has been a standout since his early days as a television guest star; even when his biggest role was a minor recurring character on Reaper, you got the feeling that he was going to be something special. Not only that, but Hammer comes with one of the greatest what-if stories in the modern history of Hollywood: what if Warner Bros. had allowed director George Miller to make his star-studded adaptation of the Justice League movie and Armie Hammer had become our quintessential Batman? Who knows, man. Who knows.

Daniel Radcliffe Gets ‘Jungle’ Fever in the Survival Thriller’s First Trailer

While there are probably those who would describe Daniel Radcliffe as an actor who has never amounted to much after the Harry Potter franchise, I’ve found his decisions over the past few years to be breathtakingly daring, a risky collection of screw-you titles that could only come from a place of supreme financial security. From Horns to Swiss Army Man and everything in between, Radcliffe has proven himself a gifted performer with a voracious appetite for genre films, becoming something relatively unique in the horror genre: an A-list actor with B-list tastes.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and ‘Justice League’ Are Fandango Users’ Most Anticipated Fall Movies

It won’t be hard for this fall to beat the worst summer box office in more than ten years, but it’s gearing up to blow the past few months out of the water. Fall — that is, Thanksgiving, a.k.a. all-the-kids-are-home-from-school-and-looking-for-something-to-do season — is almost upon us, and with it come some of the most exciting blockbusters of the year. And it’s Marvel vs. DC yet again as two superhero movies vie for the top spot.

‘Black Panther’ Hasbro Action Figures Debut Erik Killmonger’s Villainous Suit

Black Panther is swiftly approaching, and with it a ton of marketing and merch for this gorgeous-looking movie. Wakanda is the technicolor afropunk future the MCU is desperately in need of, with tons of vibrant, eye-catching costumes that promise the most visually-pleasing Marvel movie yet. One character whose look we haven’t seen in the trailers yet is Erik Killmonger, played by Michael B. Jordan, but according to one very cool Hasbro action figure he has a Black Panther suit of his own. With some added pizazz.

‘The Purge 4’ Will Go All the Way Back to the Very First Purge Night

The Purge movies have continued to act as unforgiving social and political satire, as unsubtle as they are violent, and that trend will only go further in the next installment in the series. The fourth film, titled The Purge: The Island, takes place on the very first Purge Night, confined to the shores of Staten Island, and the concept sounds appropriately messed up.

Jared Leto ‘a Little Confused’ by This Joker Movie Business (Buddy, You’re Not the Only One)

Warner Bros. and DC are making a lot of choices lately, and one of those choices is having multiple movies featuring the Joker, but not all featuring the actor who first played the character canonically in their universe. Jared Leto is not being courted for the Martin Scorsese-produced Joker origin movie, a move that makes sense considering they’re probably going for someone younger (but which does not make sense considering… who in the world was asking for a Joker origin movie??). Leto is, understandably, “a little confused” about the whole thing, but he also gets it. Kinda.

‘IT’ Writer Returning for ‘Part Two,’ Likely Hitting Theaters in 2019

Before the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s IT even hit theaters, early box office predictions suggested anywhere from a $60 to $70 million opening. By contrast, this year’s other big King adaptation, The Dark Tower, has grossed $47.9 million domestic in the month since its release. While we wait for the initial box office numbers to roll in, New Line is already developing a sequel to IT, but it probably won’t hit theaters until 2019.

‘Flatliners’ Trailer: You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Died

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from movies, it’s not to experiment with death. But that won’t stop one group of young folks from engaging in their fun new pastime of competitive dying. Flatliners, a remake of Joel Schumacher’s 1990 cult film, posits that dying for a couple of minutes gives these kids a new appreciation for the lives they have, until their deaths start to catch up with them. Never play with forces you can’t fully control.
