My furry little boy, Salem, still eats kitten food. Luckily, we have not introduced him to wet food yet. If your cat is a 9Lives kind of cat then I highly suggest you take a look at the list of cat food that 9Lives has recalled.

According to KSLA, the recall is voluntary, and due to a lack of thiamine in the food. Low levels of thiamine could result in vomiting, decreased appetite, and weight loss. This could also have neurological effect causing seizures and balance issues.

The recall includes various sizes of 9Lives flavors including Meaty Pate Chicken and Tuna, Meaty Pate Seafood Platter, Meaty Pate Super Supper, Meaty Pate with Chicken and Seafood, Meaty Pate with Chicken Dinner, Meaty Pate with Liver and Chicken, Meaty Pate with Ocean Whitefish and the Seafood Poultry Variety Pack.

The recall also includes Special Kitty flavors Beef and Liver Dinner, Classic Tuna Dinner, Mixed Grill Dinner (with and without printed wrap) and Super Supper as well as the 13-ounce EverPet Mixed Grill Dinner. -KSLA

The products were distributed between December 20th through January 3rd. Keep your fur-babies safe!
