TMZ reports that singer Chris Brown is now being charged with misdemeanor assault, dropped down from felony assault.

Brown was initially arrested for felony assault in Washington, D.C. last weekend after assaulting a man who tried to photobomb him outside a hotel. Law enforcement sources say that Brown and the victim soon began to argue, with Brown saying, "I'm not down with that gay s**t, I'm into boxing," and then punched him, breaking the man's nose.

Sources for Brown are saying that he and his bodyguard were trying to stop the man from forcing his way onto their bus.

Brown has since pleaded not guilty to the charges, and has been released from jail without bail. He has also been told to stay 100 yards away from the victim.
