Chris Rock has filed for divorce from his wife, Malaak Compton-Rock after nearly two decades together.

According to People Magazine, Chris Rock's attorney has confirmed that the comedian is filing for divorce from his wife of 19 years, Malaak Compton.

The two say that this decision comes after lots of time and consideration. Although a specific reason has not been made clear, it appears the couple had simply grown apart. They have requested privacy during this time as this is a personal matter.

Despite the split, Rock and Compton say their focus is 100% on their daughters Lola Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10.
