Sad news to share with you as this Wednesday just got a little less funny.

We've lost a shining light in the comedy world, as Charlie Murphy, brother of Eddie Murphy, died this morning.

His manager told TMZ that he passed this morning at a New York City hospital, ultimately losing his battle with Leukemia. According to TMZ, his family and close friends were shocked since it appeared he had been doing better.

His wife, Tisha Murphy, passed away in 2009, after losing her battle with cancer.

Charlie Murphy will always be remembered for his hilarious sketches on "Chappelle's Show", and a blossoming stand-up career. Certainly gone too soon, and he will most definitely be missed.

He was 57-years-old and leaves behind three children.
