We certainly had great weather for Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping, but the rain is here and it looks like it's not going anywhere any time soon.

As we learned over the summer, continuing rain brings the threat of flooding around the Red River with it. Forecasters are expecting the river to rapidly rise over the weekend, possibly reaching flood stage. KSLA reports:

A little bit closer to home, projections include rising waters, not as extreme as we saw during the summer, yet troubling nonetheless.

We know you heard it ad nauseam this year, but remember the phrase, 'Turn around, don't drown,' if you encounter standing water while driving and make sure to take measures to protect your family, property and pets.
