DJ E-Z Rock, known for his musical stylings with Rob Base has passed away at the age of 46.

DJ E-Z Rock was an early pioneer in the hip-hop community known for his hit "It Takes Two" in 1988, on which he collaborated with Rob Base. Base broke the news about his friend from 4th grade on his Twitter account.

No details about the reasons behind his death have been released, only that he passes away on Sunday at the age of 46. DJ E-Z Rock was born Rodney Bryce in Harlem, New York.

The duo released their first single, "DJ Interview" in 1987. Their fame came the following year with the song "It Takes Tow" which sampled the Lyn Collins hit "Think (About It)" in 1972. The album It Takes Two went seven times over platinum. The two split, but reunited in 1994 for an album called Break of Dawn. Unfortunately it was apparent their time of fame had passed.

Our prayers to the family and friends of Rodney Bryce.
