Did You Know Some States Own the Rain?

Big Al touched on the stupid arguments that he’s overheard — or been a part of — at his bar, the McKinney Avenue Tavern. One of them was about sharing water between states.

Do states really own the water that falls within their state lines? Essentially, yes. Some states go pretty far to protect those rights, too.

In Colorado, it’s mostly illegal for people to catch rainwater for their own use. Other states have similar laws. In Texas, however, harvesting rain water is actually encouraged.
