The third and final installment of SummerFest in the Red River Entertainment District is this Saturday. And did we mention it's free?

From the Red River Entertainment District:

Red River Entertainment District Announces SummerFest in the District, End of Summer Blow Out!

Shreveport LA –  Local food trucks, area entertainment venues, live music and street performers round out the lineup for the final installment of SummerFest in the District, the free family-friendly festival in the Red River District this Saturday, August 30, from noon until 3:00pm.

Local food trucks Jester Catering, Lilah’s Bakery, Missing Link, and Grill of the Dead will again be on hand to offer their own unique flavor to festival attendees.

What the Funk?!, a Red River District favorite, will provide musical entertainment for the free family festival.

There will be plenty to keep kids busy.  Spinner Entertainment will bring their much anticipated street performers, from jugglers to hula-hoopists, along with an added sideshow flair.  Josh Ellis, owner, says, “We are excited to bring something very new to the downtown Shreveport entertainment scene. This Saturday we will not only have the stilt walkers and jugglers who had such a good time with the families last month. We are also bringing a hula hoopist and another very special performer. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but let me just say this is something you won’t see anywhere else in the area!”

Inflatable attractions, Holiday Lanes, Splash Kingdom and Bloonz the Clown will be on hand to keep the children happy.  Parents will have the chance to sign up for some free giveaways for their kids, as well. New this month is the participation of ArkLaTex FlyBoard, the new water attraction that’s taking Cross Lake by storm.

RRED tenants Nicky’s Mexican Restaurant, Fatty Arbuckles, and Fully Stacked will be available for beverages and to offer a place to cool off during and after the event.

Marissa Carbine, event coordinator for the Red River District says, “This has been a great summer, and I can’t believe it’s almost over, but it’s been great to see SummerFest in the District become a part of the entertainment landscape of downtown Shreveport.”
