Residents around Caddo Lake in Oil City and Mooringsport are facing more concerns about flooding on the lake.

Caddo is expected to reach 178 feet this week. This compares to a crest of about 180 feet during the devastating flooding in March.

The high water is also causing problems on the roads.The Caddo Sheriff's Office has closed the following roads:

  • Mira Scott Slough Road
  • Thunder Road
  • Huckaby Road
  • Hudgeons Camp Road

Other roads have high water signs and could cause problems for motorists.Roads marked with high water signs:

  • Hosston Rodessa Road (north)
  • Ferry Lake School Road
  • Crawford Road (Oil City)

Cross Lake is beginning to fall. The Shreveport lake climbed to just above 172 feet but it;s coming back down now.Sand bags are available at the Bossier Parish maintenance yard on Mayfield Street in Benton, Elm Grove Elementary (self serve) or at the Shreveport Streets and Drainage Complex at 3825 Mansfield Road from 8am-3pm.
