Gold medal Olympic soccer star Hope Solo was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of domestic violence at her home near Seattle after allegedly assaulting her 17-year-old nephew and adult sister.

In a statement obtained by E! News, police received a 911 call from a man reporting that a woman was "hitting people". Police say that Solo appeared to be "intoxicated and upset" when they arrived at the residence and noticed "visible injuries" on her sister and nephew. Solo was later booked and held without bail.

"After receiving statements of the persons involved, officers determined that Solo was the primary aggressor and had instigated the assault," police said.

The Olympic soccer star is due in court Monday, where, according to Washington state law, she faces a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail or a fine not exceeding $5000.
