After less than a week after his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, Lamar Odom has checked himself into a rehab facility, a source tells E! News.

The basketball star and husband of Khloe Kardashian Odom was arrested Friday and booked on misdemeanor charges of DUI and refusing to take a field sobriety test. He posted bail and was released later that morning.

Odom is due in court September 27.

L.A. criminal defense attorney Troy Slaten, who is not involved in the case, told E! News, "It only looks good for him to seek treatment," adding that he would strongly recommend that any of his clients do the same if found in a similar situation.

"It looks like you are addressing [the issue] before the court, before you are being forced to," said Slaten. "It looks good to do it on your own."
