Just over a month after MTV suspended the production of Catfish following sexual misconduct allegations against host Nev Schulman, the network is resuming filming. According to a June 22 report from Us Weekly, MTV found the allegations against the host were not credible.

In a statement given to the publication, the network says that while they never received a formal complaint against Schulman, they still decided to conduct their own investigation. “The independent investigator found the allegations made in the YouTube videos to be not credible and without merit," the statement read.

“Given the results of the investigation, Catfish will resume filming. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to providing a safe working environment," the statement continued.

Allegations of sexual misconduct arose in May when a woman who appeared on the show in 2015 claimed Schulman sexually harassed her during production. The Catfish host denied the claims, saying, "The behavior described in this video did not happen and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth."

In his statement, Schulman went on to add, “I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions—but these claims are false.”

Catfish is currently in its seventh season after premiering in 2012. The series last aired an episode on May 11. It's uncertain at the time when the show will return.
