The animal krewe, the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux, will be celebrating all things furry Sunday, February 8th starting at 1:00pm at their annual parade at the new location.

Pets small and large will be leaving the Shreveport riverfront this year for the old Reeve's Marine building, just south of the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, thanks to Kilpatrick Life Insurance. This is a great location as the CLC provides plenty of great parking. With Barkus and Meoux's great new location and extra room, they're looking for vendors to be a part of their festivities. If you'd like to participate, please email us animalkrewe@yahoo.com. Parade registration will be available on their website in the next week.

If you're interested in supporting the mission of Barkus and Meoux, which is to develop, foster and promote programs to benefit abused, neglected and homeless animals, as well as promote responsible pet ownership with public education about a voluntary spay/neuter program, you can attend one of their membership meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm at in Petco's Community Room on Youree Drive in Shreveport.
