One Direction’s Payne, Tomlinson Make More Money Than Bandmates?

Not all One Directioners are equal earners. The band is worth millions however, an exclusive partnership between Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne could be boosting their paychecks.

The heartthrob quintet, One Direction, is estimated to be worth over $100 million, but according to The Mirror that doesn't mean they receive equal paychecks. Payne and Tomlinson write the band's songs, including the smash hit, "The Story of My Life." Typically, songwriters earn nine percent of each track's royalties.

If One Direction follows this trend, that means Tomlinson and Payne have some extra cha-ching in their pockets.

Payne confirmed the partnership he has with Tomlinson. He said it's important for him to write so that he can remain in the music industry and further his career. He believes the bands next album, their fourth since forming in 2010, will be a "game-changer."
