Questlove and The Weeknd Featured in Trailer For Spike Lee’s Michael Jackson Documentary
A new trailer for Spike Lee's upcoming documentary Michael Jackson's Journey from Motown to Off The Wall has been released. The trailer features clips of Questlove and The Weeknd discussing Michael Jackson's album Off The Wall, particularly Jackson's hit single "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." Questlove's input is particularly funny as he comments on not understanding the lyrics when he was young
"I didn't even know he was saying keep warm with the force don't stop," Questlove says when recalling his early memories of the song." "I thought it was about forks. When I was a kid I was like, 'keep on with the forks.' I didn't know what the forks were."
The Weeknd focuses more on how Michael Jackson inspired him. The singer explains that Off the Wall helped him become the artist he is today.
"I always used Michael as, first and foremost, a music inspiration," The Weeknd says. "And Off the Wall was definitely the one that made me feel like I could sing. I found my falsetto because of Off the Wall, 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."
The trailer also features clips of actor/poet Lemon Anderson and Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne talking about "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."
Michael Jackson's Journey from Motown to Off the Wall will premiere on Showtime on Feb. 5.
