Ricky Gervais Returns As Golden Globes Host

Don't get too comfortable, celebrities, 'cause guess who's back?

Ricky Gervais will be returning as host of the Golden Globes for their 73rd annual ceremony Jan. 10, 2016, marking his return to hosting duties for the first time in three years.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler had served as hosts for the past three years, but after their contracts expired, the decision was made to bring back Gervais.

"We're excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way," NBC Entertainment Chairmen Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. "Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor — and send up — the best work of the year in film and television. Fasten your seats belts."
