The cool mountain mornings of West Virginia are now in the rear view mirror for the New Orleans Saints. Staring the straight in the face is the heat and humidity of late August in Louisiana. This should be a stark contrast to the cooler and less humid temperatures of the previous two weeks. For Coach Sean Payton the return to Louisiana could not have come at a better time.

Coach Payton told the Louisiana Radio Network that the previous two preseason games, both losses for the Saints, were part of the balancing act that coaches go through this time of year.

That's one of the balancing acts of the preseason, when you have 90 players. There's part of you as a coach that saw some things that you are encouraged about, but I'm telling you what, offensively it's across the board, we'll put that tape on and there's not a lot of good things.

For  many Saints fans the loss Saturday to the Houston Texans was very hard to take. While Coach Payton may see a light at the end of the tunnel for the offense. It was the defense that showed up Saturday night according to most fans.

Saints fans who would like to see the team practice are invited to attend any or all of the three open practices scheduled this week.

Monday 3:30-5:30 PM
Tuesday  9:30 AM-12:20 PM
Wednesday 9:30 AM-12:20 PM.
Practices are held at the Saints practice facility weather permitting. The Saints next preseason game is set for Friday night when the Pittsburgh Steelers will come to the Mercedes Benz Superdome for a contest that begins at 7 PM
