SBC Untapped: Drink, Mingle, and Learn About Local Nonprofits
The September edition of SBC Untapped is set for this week.
In August, our community was introduce to a new way to network. It's called SBC Untapped and it's all about the nonprofit organization in Shreveport-Bossier. Now, that's not to say that you can't attend unless you're involved in a nonprofit.
In fact, I went last month and it was a blast.
Each month, several representatives from various local nonprofits are invited to speak at this event. The community is invited to come out for an ice cold beer and a chance to win some prizes. The event is free to attend with doors opening at 5 p.m. at Red River Brewing in Shreveport. It usually lasts about two hours, but you certainly can hang around longer.
This month SBC Untapped will take place on Thursday, September 15. It is a special night that will feature the eight candidates running for Fourth Congressional District. According to the event's Facebook page these candidates will be in attendance:
Dr. Trey Baucum, R-Shreveport
Former Sen. Elbert Guillory, R-Baton Rouge
Mark David Halverson, no party affiliation, Shreveport
Republican Shreveport City Councilman Oliver Jenkins

State Rep. Mike Johnson, R-Bossier City
