Seth MacFarlane Set To Star In Sci-Fi Series For Fox

Fox announced Wednesday that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will star in a science-fiction comedy-drama set to air in 2017.

MacFarlane will also executive produce the show which has received an order for 13 episodes. It will focus on the crew of a spaceship called "Orville" which will face "cosmic dramas", going "where no comedy-drama has gone before".

"I've wanted to do something like this show ever since I was a kid, and the timing finally feels right," said MacFarlane in a statement. "20th and FOX have been good to me for many years...I think this is gonna be something special."
