Susan G. Komen Northwest Louisiana will be holding their 20th annual Race for the Cure in November and this year is expected to be bigger than ever before.

Susan G. Komen Northwest Louisiana is gearing up for their 20th Race for the Cure which will be held on November 1. This year, they are expecting staggering numbers.

According to the Shreveport Times, what started in 1994 with 350 participants has now grown to thousands of participants. This year, some 6,000 people are expected to participate in the race.

The great thing about Susan G. Komen is that they focus on local markets. What that means, is the money raised in Northwest Louisiana, stays in Northwest Louisiana.

The Race for the Cure buzz kicks off this weekend with a party on Saturday, October 25 at the Susan G. Komen offices.

You can still register for the race by visiting www.komennwla.org.
