Suspect Charged In Murder Of Former Saints DE Will Smith

28-year-old Cardell Haynes was arrested and charged with second-degree murder Sunday in the death of former New Orleans Saints defensive end Will Smith.

Smith was shot to death late Saturday in an apparent road rage incident. his wife, Racquel, was shot twice in the right leg, police said.

The incident occurred when a Hummer H2 driven by Haynes rear-ended Smith's Mercedes SUV, which rear-ended another car driven by one of his friends. Police say that Smith and Haynes "exchanged words" before Haynes shot Smith multiple times.

Haynes is being held on $1 million bond.
