Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives in an investigation with Shreveport Police have identified the body found in Lake Bistineau on October 10 as a Shreveport man.
And just like that, all our hopes and prayers that the ice storm that rolled through back in February would knock Giant Salvinia into another universe are gone
When I was a kid, my parents had a cabin on Lake Bistineau near what was Cryer's Camp (it's called Our Place now). I was raised right there on the water as we spent nearly every weekend down there visiting my grandmother and aunts and uncles that lived there. Countless hours were spent fishing, building forts in the woods with my friends, and getting into whatever I could find as a young explorer.
Recently, Lake Bistineau has suffered some hardships and it still hasn't come back to the former glory it once had.
