Here's the latest list of Mardi Gras events courtesy of Captain of Captains Doug Kochenderfer. Yes, we do have Mardi Gras in August... except I don't like to wear as many beads because they get hot, then you sweat and your neck turns green and purple;)

2011/12 MARDI GRAS EVENT DATES

AUGUST 2011

18^th Thur., Krewe Les Femmes Mystique “Back to School” fundraiser. Take the fuss and worry out of

the first day of school by letting Les Femmes provide dinner for your family! Les Femmes

is selling jambalaya and rice dinners for $7.00 each that evening. Buy your tickets prior to

that date by mailing your check by August 13^th to P.O. Box 5851 Shreveport, LA 71135.

Then drive to Shavers and pick up your dinners. If you purchase 10 or more for one loca-

tion Les Femmes will deliver in Shreveport and Bossier City.

20^th Sat., Krewe des Ambassadeurs Coronation, Red River Room – Louisiana Downs, Door Open

6:30 PM., Royalty Presentation at 8:00 PM. Heavy Hors d’oeuvres, Cash Bar, Silent Auction,

Music by “Dorcheat Bottom Band”, Black Tie Optional, Tickets $35 in Advance.

Coronation at 8:00 PM, Silent Auction, Seated Dinner, Music by Robin and the Seven Hoods,

15^th Sat., Krewe Les Femmes Mystique Second Annual Shopping Trip to Dallas. Be sure to put this

date on your calendar and join the ladies of Les Femmes Mystique for this fall trip to

Dallas. All parties attending had a blast last year so you won’t want to miss this year.

Prior to September 15^th tickets will be available for $60.00, after that date tickets will

be $65.00 each. You will travel on a luxury motor coach to destinations to be announced.
