This List Of Rules Has Parents And Teachers Up In Arms

As a parent, I think we can agree on at least one thing.  Having a disrespectful child can be equally embarrassing and unavoidable. Every kid mouths off at some point, and it gives us the golden opportunity to teach them the right way and the wrong way to deal with the general public.

No place is this more important than school.  I completely agree that school is a place for book learning, and not for manners learning.  Kids should learn how to be cool to fellow humans at home.  That's not to say that even the best parents don't have to give the best kids a refresher course every now and then, but the base knowledge begins with mom and dad.  For the most part every single kid I have met in the SBC has been respectful.  When I have seen examples of kids being disrespectful, I have seen parents go all sideways.  That gives me a smile on the inside, good job!
