Top 5 Reasons to Get Married in the Fall

Let's not beat around the bush here... It's dang hot in the south! That heat starts in May and runs straight through to September. However, in October there is a major shift. It can still be warm on the thermometer however, the breeze is actually cool and the humidity is gone. This make outdoor weddings doable and more bearable for your guests. Oh, and now glistening wedding photos.

You can get away with different colors in the fall. Let's say you want more golds, bronzes, reds and browns. You can easily incorporate those colors into your bridal party, decorations, invitations, etc. To me, these colors can sometimes be more formal that the pinks and blues you see in the spring.

This will sound absolutely absurd, but I realized that I was more apt to eat at my cousin's wedding over the weekend because it wasn't so hot. Also, think of all of the drinks you could serve in the fall... Hot hard cider? Or just regular cider for the kids? Yum!

Recently I have become obsessed with lanterns. I especially love them in the fall. How cute would your table decorations be if you had a big rustic lantern in the middle. Think of the beautifully colored leaves and acorns you could incorporate too. You could also add some cinnamon scents to really "fall" it up! Oh, and a fireplace in the reception? Very cozy!

If everyone is getting married in the spring, you are most likely going to run into scheduling conflicts. Other weddings, showers, graduations and more. Yeah, there are football games that could get in the way, but that's what TiVo is for. Plus, you will be celebrating your anniversary in a much less expensive time of the year. P.S.
