The Shreveport Times shared that TSA will be deciding over the weekend what service animals will be allowed on an airplane limiting the animals to dogs only. What does this mean for people right here in Shreveport?

According to the Service Dog Center, there are approximately 387,000 service dogs in the U.S. and that isn't including all of the other service animals that are available for people with disabilities like cats, rabbits, miniature pigs and even monkeys. The Shreveport times also mentioned that over 100,000 service animals travel in the cabins of airplanes each year. TSA is suspecting that people are bringing animals into the cabin with the cover that they are meant to 'service' their disabilities.

We are coming up to one of the busiest times of the year for air travel. Lets think about all of the people who might be affected by this. This limits who will be allowed on an airplane with their service animal. Who should have that right that people with disabilities should limit themselves to only dogs? That isn't fair.
