Tyrese Gibson Had Harsh Things to Say About Shreveport, LA

Fast & Furious star, Tyrese Gibson is in hot water today, after saying negative things about Shreveport, LA. Tyrese was apparently making a motivation video of some sort, when he felt the need to throw Shreveport under the bus.

"If you live in the middle of the jungle in freakin' Shreveport, Louisiana some damn where in the middle of nowhere, no disrespect to Shreveport. I love my fans out there,  but if you're an actress or a model or somebody looking to do something impactful, ain't nobody gonna find your a** in no Shreveport.  Come on man.  Out of sight, out of mind," says Gibson.

Ouch.

I'm born and raised here, so I may be a little biased... But I disagree to an extent. I have proof.

Is Tyrese forgetting academy award winner, Jared Leto? Oh, and academy award winner, William Joyce? What about Hank Williams Jr? Brady Blade? Tim Brando? Kenny Wayne Shepherd? Terry Bradshaw? Kix Brooks? Jacob Hester? Not to mention the host of K945's Club SBC, Jay Whatley! (Hold the laughter)

Heck, technically Elvis Freakin' Presley was discovered in the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium at the Louisiana Hayride!

Don't get me wrong, I understand the premise of what he's saying. If you don't live in LA or New York, you don't have much of a chance. However, if you truly study Shreveport's past and present, you would know that quite a bit of talent comes from our area. Two oscars in the past 3 years?? Some of us aren't lucky enough to be birthed into the LA scene, like Tyrese was, but Shreveporters make the best of what we have.
