Easter has always been one of my all time favorite holidays. I must admit waking up to a big basket of chocolate candy was the primary reason as a youngster, but that has changed over the years.

It is a day of celebrating for He Is Risen.  As a way to give back to those who might not get to celebrate Easter this year, we are putting together Easter baskets for some local agencies. We will be helping the families at Providence House and Project Celebration this year.

But we need your help. I hope you can find it in your heart to donate some candy we can put in the baskets. We also need some baskets for the program this year. You have always been so generous and I know this year will be no different.

If you can help, please drop your goodies off at Townsquare Media at 6341 Westport Avenue (we are located just down the road from Cracker Barrel Restaurant). Please drop off your donations M-F between 8am and 5pm. Our deadline is Wednesday, March 28th. We would appreciate whatever you can afford to contribute.

If your office would like to get together and purchase several baskets, that would be great. The last time we did this in Shreveport Bossier, we collected 69 Easter baskets. We want to surpass that number this year.

Providence House has worked “in the trenches” for more than 20 years to help homeless families with children shed the bonds of extreme poverty and homelessness. The Providence House program initiates systemic change that transforms families and ultimately communities.

Project Celebration provides a safe home for victims of Domestic Violence. Often these folks come in with just the clothes on their backs. They would appreciate any treats you can donate.
