Mardi Gras Parade Tips: 10 Unspoken Rules to Know
Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year, we are in the thick of the 2025 Mardi Gras Season. Why do we love it so much? Well simply put, you must experience it for yourself. If you have never experienced a Mardi Gras parade you have been missing out. Although we are all about you going out and living your best life there are a bunch of unwritten rules that revelers abide by, and let's be real, sometimes we all need a little bit of guidance.
Did You Know There are Unspoken Rules When it Comes to Mardi Gras?
My first Mardi Gras experience wasn't great, because I didn't follow the unspoken rules of Mardi Gras. I wish I had known that when it comes to parade day, it is a marathon, not a sprint. I was ready to go home before the parade started rolling. I also made the mistake of not having a sign or cool target for my throws to find me. I also made the mistake of picking up beads that had been all over the ground. Wet beads are not good beads.
If you had to compile a list of rules for first-timers as they enter their first Mardi Gras season what would you tell them? We took to social media to find out what are the rules we must follow and there were a lot of suggestions, the one thing that most revelers agree with, is that these parades are for the kids to enjoy, no one likes when people steal beads from kids right?
