Is Anyone Else Deep Cleaning Their Home?

We have heard from many people lately who are cleaning their homes. Clutter isn't our favorite and we are doing what we can to avoid having clutter inside our homes at all costs. During the pandemic, we saw so many people change their lives and they started by cleaning out their homes.

Do You Remember "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo"?

In this Netflix series, Kondo helps clients clear out clutter, and most of the time some kind of home makeover happens. Basically, we all have been taxed with asking ourselves "Does this bring me joy?" and if the answer is "No" then you need to get rid of it, no matter what the item is. This show was good for people like me who wanted to take control of their home and make for a better space.

If You Have Been Deep Cleaning and Getting Rid of Clutter You May Have a Lot of Things You Want to Get Rid Of.

The question I have been left with is "Where can I drop all this stuff off?". I have nothing against places like Goodwill or Christ Fit Resale Gift Store, however I want to give to an organization in need. If you are also trying to get rid of clothes and household items check out some places below that could use our donations

The Lovewell Center: This ministry is a membership-based resource center that allows members to earn the physical resources they need by attending classes and programs designed to help them move out of poverty and homelessness and into a restored life. Earned credits can be used in The Lovewell stores: The Dresswell clothing store, The Smellwell laundromat, The Eatwell food store, and The Stylewell hair salon. You can donate food, clothes, and household items at 605 Cotton Street, Monday through Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Summer Grove Thrift Store: The Summer Grove Thrift Store is open the second and fourth Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. They take donations Monday through Wednesday 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. You can schedule a pick-up for furniture and large items by calling the store at (318) 686-8617. They will take in just about anything they just ask that it is clean, working, and in good condition.
