Louisiana Chimp Lovers Excited for Discovery Day
It Only Comes Along Twice a Year, and If You Aren't Paying Attention It Will Slip Past You.
Chimp Haven is normally closed to the public however two times each year we are all invited to visit the world's largest chimpanzee sanctuary.
What do we get to do on Chimp Discovery Days? Observe chimp families in their forested habitats, we can hear chats from the expert staff about chimp behaviors, veterinary care, enrichment, and more. We can learn about life at the sanctuary at different interactive stations.
The Best Part is Everyone is Encouraged to Show Up in Costume for the Fall "Chimp or Treat" Theme.
Costumes are encouraged and kids can make their own “Chimp or Treat” bags and collect candy at different educational stations. This bi-annual event is on a strictly first come first served basis.
Saturday, October 19th from 9 am to noon we can all experience the chimp life.
Tickets vary from $10 to $20 and children under the age of 4 get in for free. The good news is that all the ticket sales from Chimpanzee Discovery Day benefit the chimps’ lives at the sanctuary. You can click here to get all the ticket information.
