It's kitten and puppy season in Shreveport, and unfortunately, many of our local animal shelters are completely full. While the community is stepping up with fostering, there's one special feline who urgently needs a home. Meet Alley, a sweet 19-year-old cat who is desperately waiting to find her forever family.

The 19-year-old cat was surrendered to the Caddo Parish Animal Shelter on Wednesday, May 28th, because her owner had some health issues. The worst part about Alley having to be rehomed is that the old gal is set in her ways, and this is the first time her world has been turned upside down, so now she is terrified. The shelter crew claims that she hisses if you attempt to pet her, so whoever adopts her has to be a true cat whisperer.

The team at the Caddo shelter emphasizes Alley's urgent need for a loving home where she can finally enjoy her golden years. Despite her 19 years, Alley looks remarkably healthy and is described as an easy-to-care-for, indoor-only cat who has lived peacefully with other felines. While a little shy at first, she adores being petted. The shelter is confident that once Alley feels safe and loved in her forever home, her sweet personality will truly blossom. For her comfort, Alley would thrive in a quiet environment, ideally without young children.

Do you want to meet this old gal? Drop in the shelter during visiting hours and see if Alley picks you to be her person. Visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Caddo Parish Animal Shelter is located at 1500 Monty Street, Shreveport, LA 71107.
