I know that the past 12 months have been rough, but now that we are starting to come out of the pandemic there are some things we need to take care of.  Unfortunately, while we were hunkered down, the process of connecting awesome kids with the much needed stability of a foster family virtually froze.

It's understandable that while we were all just trying to get from the grocery store and back without catching COVID-19, there were some things that had to be put on the back burner.  That being said, it's time to get the ball rolling in the foster parent department.  According to KALB there are more than 3,400 children in the Louisiana foster parent system right now, and every one of them deserves a solid start in life.

All across the state, there are kids how have been dealt a rough hand in the parent department. There are also a lot of families that have room for one or more of these incredible kids.  Now that the barriers are virtually down, the process of getting them together can begin again!

If have room in your home and your heart to foster, or you know someone that could - here's what you need to do.  In North-West Louisiana, the best place to start is the Department of Children and Family Services.  Now that the pandemic is starting to release its deadly grip, it's time to get back to the business of building families again.
