You expect some loud bangs and some colorful displays from fireworks, but some fireworks apparently have too much bang and are being recalled because they are a hazard to public safety.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued three different recalls today on fireworks that have been sold to the public. Fireworks being sold under the names of:

are of concern this 4th of July. Separate recalls have been issued for each and all of them due to violation of Federal Standards along with explosion and burn hazards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission:

The recalled fireworks are overloaded with pyrotechnics intended to produce an audible effect, violating the federal regulatory standard for this product. Overloaded fireworks can result in a greater than expected explosion, posing explosion and burn hazards to consumers.

If you possess any of the following products you are encouraged to return them to the point of purchase for a refund.

GS Fireworks

Remember, fireworks are explosives and can cause injury, dismemberment, blindness, burns and even deaths. Never allow children to play with fireworks and use extreme caution while lighting fireworks. Always read printed instructions and use common sense to have a very safe and enjoyable 4th of July.
