5 Crazy, Awesome Hairstyles I Wish I Had the Guts to Try [PHOTOS]
Pinterest can be a dangerous place. Especially if you want to change your hair.
Every girl does this. No matter how our hair looks, we want something different. If it's long we want it short. If it's blonde, we want it brunette. It would be nice if we could just switch it up on the daily, but who could afford all of those wigs. We're simply left to dream and pretend on computer games like Virtual Makeover.
And Pinterest doesn't help.
Pinterest makes you believe that any and all hairstyles and color will look marvelous on you. It's like the Genie in the bottle telling you that you can be a prince and marry the beautiful princess, even if you are just a street rat.
So, I've compiled the top five hairstyles that I would LOVE to do, but am terrified I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror when it's done.
- 1
Purple Hair
I don't think there's a girl out there who hasn't flirted with the idea of purple hair. It's whimsical, sultry and a tad bit crazy, which is exactly what women are made of. We all want to have that Disney princess feel while maintaining some mysteriousness and we all love to have a wild side.

Colored Ombre
While we're on the subject of color, let's talk ombre. My hair currently has a soft ombre that is slowly growing out. This is a woman's dream come true! Say goodbye to root touch ups! However, a dramatic ombre with some serious color looks awesome. We're talking taking a big old slice of the color wheel pie and applying it to your head. Talk about fun!

Vintage Short
Many celebs are making vintage styles come back from the dead. This 1940s-inspired look is definitely a style that look adorbs on celebs like Julianne Hough, Lauren Conrad, etc... Until it's on your own head. How many times have you left the salon LOVING your hair only to realize the next day that you have NO idea how to style it? With summer right around the corner, I continue to be teased and taunted by this style, but chose to direct my attention to cute braids. Yeah, cute braids will suffice.

The Buzz
Remember when Cressida (or Natalie Dormer) stepped in to frame in Hunger Games with her buzzed head? So fierce! This one definitely had me running for my husband's electric razor... Ok, maybe that's a little extreme, but man I was tempted. Such an awesome look! If you're like me, you have thick hair, which is an amazing blessing. Yet at the same time, you can't even keep a ponytail in place and styles tend to fall so easily. The buzz could definitely remove some weight, but I think for now I'll stick to the layered approach.

Asymmetrical
There is something to be said about symmetry. It's balance, it's structure, it's consistency. Now throw that all out the window. Haha! Asymmetrical hair is none of those things, yet it's still so elegant and classy. Again, my hair skills are limited so to even dream about how to style this in a way that looks halfway decent makes me break out in hives. We'll leave it to the pros... or, in this case, the celebs that have a nine-man glam squad at their beck and call.
