A South Bossier Institution is Up For Sale

Nona's Snow Wiz has been helping South Bossier beat the summer heat with some delicious snow cones and the stand has been called a "South Bossier City institution" and a "Shady Grove Neighborhood Landmark".

Nona's Snow Wiz Opened Up in 1992.

This snow cone stand has become a staple for so many in the community. Many Bossier residents were so upset to see that the snow cone stand is up for sale.

A Former Bossier Resident Matt Gallion Took to Facebook to Share the News About Nona's Snow Wiz.

Gallion's post resonated with so many in the community. You can read what he said below:

"After 31 years, Ms. Nona is selling Nona’s Snow Wiz. A South Bossier City institution, a Shady Grove neighborhood landmark, and a very special place to many people since it opened in May of 1992. My first 20 years of life were spent in Shady Grove and every summer we always made the short drive up to Nona’s. My favorite was strawberry. Still is.

I have so many memories at this place from when I was a little boy all the way up until now in my 30s. I can see it as it was when I was 3 years old, I remember my 1st grade class walked to Nona’s from Bellaire Elementary to have snow cones for the end of the school year, and I remember coming down from Kansas City when I turned 30 to let Nona know Julia and I were expecting our first child. And Ms. Nona always remembered me no matter how long I had been away. She remembered everyone. Makes me really miss home. If someone does buy it, they better do it justice. If no one buys it, then we’ve lost a truly historic place in Bossier City"
