Accident on I-20 Leaves Three Dead

A tragic multi-vehicle accident has left 3 people dead. The call came in early Saturday (8/7/21) when a car hit a truck on the side of the road causing it to obstruct the roadway on I-20 near Fairfield Avenue. When the truck spun in to the road, it hit a group of oncoming motorcyclists.

Of the 3 confirmed dead, 2 were motorcyclists who hit the truck, and the other was a passenger in the vehicle that hit the truck. The driver of the vehicle and other motorcyclists were injured and transported to Ochsner LSU Health. There were six vehicles involved in this fatal crash.

As a result of this tragic accident the Fairfield exit area of I-20 was closed for several hours while Police investigated and cleared the road.

This accident remains under investigation.
